According to Aliya Mustafina Online, the team for Russia has been selected.

Aliya Mustafina
Anna Dementieva
Ekaterina Kurbatova
Anna Myzdrikova
Tatiana Nabieva
Ksenia Afanasyeva
Ksenia Semenova

No Pavs.  Poo.

Who do we suppose is the alternate?  I thought Myzdrikova or Kurbatova?  But Semy is named last.  Does this mean anything?
In answer to my question,  Aliya Mustafina Online announced that there would be another competition, the Dynamo Cup in Penza, against other post-Soviet nations.  Here, the line up will be determined, including who will be reserve.

Da Da Da Dum!!!!

  1. Hopefully Mzdrikova is the alternate. She's only competitive on one event--floor--and has been beaten on it by Mustafina, Afanasyeva, AND Semyonova every since Semy got her new DLO. And then I hope they don't use Kurbatova at all during team finals.

  2. Wow, that looks to be an amazing competition!

  3. Kinda ironic that Pavs is the postergirl for the upcoming competition. :-( It's sad to see her with her knee all taped up. I think she would've scored quite well at Worlds due to her lovely execution (and being loved by the judges)

  4. Well I heard that Kurbatova is the alternate. But not 100% sure, the source doesn't said she was the alternate clearly. But I already asked about it

  5. The Gymnastics Examiner speculated that it's either going to be Anna Myzdrikova or Ekaterina Kurbatova as alternate. But I guess we're just going to have to wait and see.

  6. The Dinamo competition is only relevant to the MAG team selection!!!!! There is a WAG meet too but it's not part of the selection process. As always, the six who will compete will be named after podium training.
Nobody has been named the alternate yet.

  7. So they won't put Pavs on the team, but they'll put her on the promotional poster? Assholes.
