So it turns out gymnast will be getting some of the money allocated by the Deva/ Huneadora Council as well as coaches and staff.  The Council assured those at Deva that it  recognised and valued the National Team's presence in Deva and that they were aware it was one of the main reasons why Deva is even known internationally. The council is, it stated, willing to do anything to ensure the Deva centre can stay in the area.
As for the gymnasts, Sandra Izbasa, Diana Chelaru, Amelia Racea, Raluca Haidu will receive 1500 lei each- and from what I can understand of the translation, their team mates will receive 1000 lei as bonusses.

Steliana Nistor has interviewed by Prosport this week, but it was kind of difficult to understand the translation.  I am sure someone will fill us in.  But, from what i can gather, she still misses gymnastics, but the pain of her many and various injuries is too much for her. She says she has not yet received an offer to coach anywhere.  Other than that, all I got was that she naps in the afternoon, likes watching basketball and tries not to put on weight.

  1. She also says that since her retirement she hasn't got a phone call from any gym people. It's really sad, because I remember also reading somewhere (a Romanian newspaper maybe?)her saying that around Beijing the Romanian team was filled with envy and jealousy. There she was also saying that Forminte did not train her properly and that if Belu and Bitang would have still been the coaches she would have medaled in Beijing's AA

  2. Bottom line: I don't think she has such pink memories about her last months in Deva after all
