Let's not forget the little people...

Sometime I forgot, in all the hurly-burly about the World's Team selection that the National Championships are about a whole lot more.  It is about a whole lot of young girls, three hundred and seventy-five of them, to be exact, getting to find out where they stand in the in the ranks of American Gymnastics.  In Dallas, they get to check out the playing field.

These girls, even the one's who have little to no hope of making the World's team, or possibly any Worlds team, are still excited, nervous and unsure of what to expect.  However they feel, they know it is a BIG deal.

The Blue Springs Examiner published an article the other day that reminded me of just this, by interviewing a number of Gage Gymnasts on their feelings going in to the Championships.  They were mixed.  There is much trepidation, but much excitement.

Claire Boyce summed it up,

"I am just so excited to think it is next week, we're going to e at the Championships in Dallas.  It's been something we have tained for and worked hard for and now, it's here.  I can't wait!"

  1. Just FYI, is is 375 TOTAL competitors over all disciplines (Men's & Women's junior/senior Artistic, Rhythmic, T&T, Acro)
375 elite women's artistic gymnasts would be an obscene amount lol
